The basics

What is the School Check-In App?
A secure, web-based platform designed to modernize the K-12 student dismissal process, allowing parents to check-in from mobile devices and notifying staff in real-time.
How does the check-in process work?
When a parent arrives at school, they tap a single "Check-In" button in the app. This action instantly displays their child's pickup ID on a live dashboard monitored by staff inside.
Does the app confirm my child made it to the car?
That's an optional security feature your school can switch on. With two-step check-in you tap once to check in on arrival, then tap again to confirm your children are in the car before you pull away — a recorded hand-off for schools that want one. It's off by default, so unless your school enables it, check-in stays a single tap.
Can parents save their vehicle details?
Saved vehicles is an optional security feature your school can switch on. Parents add a car — make, model, and color — to their profile so dismissal staff can match the vehicle to the pickup ID in the line. It's off by default; schools that don't need it never see it.
Is this a native app from the App Store?
Yes. The School Check-In App is live on the App Store and Google Play. The app gives you the most reliable location check — the part that matters most in the pickup line — plus one-tap check-in from your home screen. You can also check in from any mobile browser. Get the app
How difficult is it to set up our school?
Incredibly simple. You provide us with your student ID list and branding, and we handle the configuration. Most schools can be fully onboarded in just a week or two.
How is a "family" defined for billing?
A "family" is defined by a primary Pickup ID. Whether shared with one parent or five guardians, it's billed as a single unit. You are not charged per user.
Does our school need a specific ID system?
Yes. The School Check-In App operates using a unique numbering system (Family/Pickup IDs). If your school already uses one, we can simply import it via CSV. If not, we can help you implement a new numbering system as part of your onboarding.

Access & families

Can guardians share pickup duties?
Yes. Primary parents can grant permanent, secure access to grandparents or caregivers, giving them their own secure login to check-in for the shared student pickup ID.
What if someone else picks up for one day?
Our "Temporary Access" feature allows parents to generate a secure, single-use link valid for only one pickup window, which can be sent via text or email to trusted individuals.
How do parents manage pickup access?
Each parent has a "Shared Access" tab. It shows a list of every account granted permanent access, allowing parents to instantly revoke access at any time with a single tap.

Security & staff

What do dismissal staff see?
Staff monitor a clean, real-time list on a large screen or monitor. As parents check in, their child's pickup ID instantly appears in order, allowing staff to organize dismissal.
How is our school's data protected?
We use Google's secure Firebase infrastructure, restricted API keys, strict CORS policies, and App Check to ensure all data remains private and protected at all times.
Do you store sensitive location data?
No. We perform a one-time check at "Check-In" to verify the parent is near school. This location data is then permanently deleted from our servers every single night.
How is staff account security handled?
The teacher dashboard uses a single shared credential, strictly managed by your school administrator. Passwords must be reset whenever staff members with access depart.
Is the app FERPA compliant?
Yes. We act as a "school official" under FERPA, treating all student data as the school's property and collecting only the minimum info necessary to provide service.
What support do you offer?
We offer multiple support channels, including in-app forms, website contact forms, and direct email to assist staff and parents with any issues.
